7.18 Sunset walk on the beach

by Lu Lu on 16/07/2012

This is another evening we spent in Maui. When we were there, everyday around 6pm we would go to the beach in our resort, and walked on the sand while watching the sunset, and every time I was amazed how beautiful it is here. Hawaii is really a magical place, I don’t think there is any word I can describe it. Hope my pics can bring you to this magical island:)

I chose very simple outfits for this vacation, and most of the time, I didn’t wear any makeup (except for sunscreen) or accessories, and just let my hair air dry. I just wanted to be as natural as this island:)

Hey my beauties,

This the first evening we spent in Maui, we went for a Luau show (Hawaii local performance), and had a lovely dinner buffet at the show place.  The sunset in Hawaii is the most beautiful sunset I haven ever seen, it is just gorgeous like a painting. The beach, sunset, dance, music, food, everything was perfect, those pics will always bring me back to that lovely evening:)

I wore this strapless one piece dress from JCrew, and my favorite part was adding this bright neon green skinny belt, it brings more shape and fun to the whole outfit. Sometime a small accessory can definitely pull together the whole outfit. I am obsessed with neon for this season, but instead of being a walking highlighter, I prefer to incorporate small neon factors to my outfit.

7.13 I can touch the sky~

by Lu Lu on 13/07/2012

Hey guys, my Hawaii vacation post are finally here. Yay~We went to Maui a week ago, and we had an awesome time there. We saw so many breath taking views, that I think some are them are definitely my top 10 views until now. I was so amazed how beautiful and magical the nature can be. On the first day,  we went to Haleakala National Park, we drove and passed through the cloud, got the top of crater, the view was absolutely phenomenal. I felt we were closer to heaven when when we on the top, the sky and cloud are touchable to us. This is a must see in Maui.

When I am on vacation, I think comfort is as important as fashion, I normally go for shorts if we are having any outdoor activities. It was pretty warm in Maui, but I knew on the top of crater it will be chillier, so I brought this chunky sweater, it is so warm and cozy, and I love wear it with shorts for a casual feel. (See paring it with Denim shorts here) My Hawaii flower Leis is from our resort, I wore it for the whole day and  I love it adds a good pop of color to my outfit.

by Lu Lu on 08/07/2012

Here is my yesterday’s outfit, and I wore it for a dinner with friends. I think a white dress should absolutely be a statement piece in every girl’s summer wardrobe; it helps to bring out more tan, so fresh and crisp feeling. I got this dress from JCrew along with the 7.7 JCrew accessory and Target shoes Haul, and of course I got it from an amazing discount, it is marked down from $188 to $53, check out more sales finding tips from my last Haul post. For this white dress, I love the crochet detailing, the neckline, the classic fit, it can be easily dressed down and up with the right accessories, see more paring ideas later.

Hey my lovelies, I want to share my haul yesterday from JCrew and Target with you guys, so you can still get it if you like any of them. Most of staff are highly discounted, so I am really happy and enjoying them.

Bracelets, necklace, coral sneaker are from JCrew. JCrew is having a 30% off on all the sales items. But I can’t find the same items or price online, so check out your local JCrew, sometime stores have better deal than the online store.

  • The pink and mint bracelet, mint necklace were all originally $30, after the entire discount, I got them of $11 each, pretty impressive, right? JCrew is definitely one of my favorite brands for jewelry, because it is so well made, chic and also classic, I can wear them for a really long time. I used to buy lots of forever 21 accessories, but quality is not good, after a few wears, the color will change really easily. I think those two bracelets will add so much fun to my arm candy parties, I am in love with them.
  • The coral sneaker was marked down from $34 to $ 11, I think it is good dupe for Tom’s, there were many colors, but I think the bright coral brings out more of my tan, so it is perfect for summer.

The black wedge and booties are all from Target

I hope you enjoy my haul, have a great the rest of the weekend!

See you soon:)

7.4 Black White and Neon

by Lu Lu on 04/07/2012

Hi my lovelies. Happy July 4th! Even my outfit here is not 4th related, but I would like to share it with you on this special day!

As you can tell from my old posts, I have been obsessed with Neon this season, neon green, yellow, pink and orange, they are all my favorites. I feel so energetic when I have something “neon”. A simple way to pair neon is wearing it with neutral, and it makes the neon pops even more.

See details here: H&M black faux leather short//H&M white see-through contrast tee//Suede booties from Dolce Vita//My Neon bag from Target. I didn’t think it is a very practical bag because of the bright color, but I’ve gotten so many uses from it, and see how I styled it here, here, and here in the past. Accessories are all from lulu’sfashionshop which will be launched soon, please come back and check them out if you like my accessories.

6.24 Neon and Ruffle

by Lu Lu on 24/06/2012

Color pant is definitely a must have for this season, and I think they are such a fun alternative for black and denim jean. Every time I saw people wear color jeans, they just simply brights up my mood. Now I own two pair of color pants,  see how I featured my electronic blue pair here. I got this pair neon orange jean from JCrew, I am in love with this color, so rich and unique. To make bright pants  more wearable, I normally pair it with neutral color or basic pieces. But I think I can totally rock it with color blocking or some daring prints. There is no rules for fashion, always think outside of box!

Here is a sneak peek of some jewelry pieces in my shop, which is going to be launched  really soon, please check out my shop for more details soon. I never leave my home without stacking tons of arm candies, I like to mix and match different feel and style to spice up my look:)

Details for this outfit: JCrew neon orange ankle pant//Nude ruffle top from TJmaxx//Leopard belt from Target//Arm candies from Lulu’s fashion shop//Clutch from H&M

How I pack for my trip

by Lu Lu on 17/06/2012

We went to San Diego for a 4 days trip, you probably already saw some fashion posts from this trip. Here is “how I pack for my trip”:  from how I choose what outfits and accessories to bring to how I keep them organized.

I have this amazing Garment Rack I got from Amazon in my bedroom. I use it all the time for my fashion inspiration and daily look. For most of the time,  I keep all  my current week outfits, or the blog outfits on the rack, it saves me so much time when I need to go out, especially in the morning, and I look pulled together and stylish when I need to:)

I decide what outfits to bring depends on our trip plan, and I write down every plan  on a sticky note, for example: Sat am-road trip. Sat pm-pier walk, Sun am-Balboa park, Sun night-dinner downtown, Mon am-La Jolla beach….Then I put together outfits for each activity, and pair every outfit with its accessories, shoes, and purse, and hang them all together.

I love this packing method, and I hope this is helpful for you.  It reminds me of all the staff I need for the trip, and also helps me avoid over-packing. What’s your packing tricks? Please share it with me:)

Have a great week my love!

Green garden salmon chopped salad

by Lu Lu on 12/06/2012

This salad is really tasty,  healthy and nutritious, and it is one of my favorite salads. It contains all the fiber and vitamin from  different veges and also the protein,  health fat and Omega 3 from Salmon.

Ingredients:  Spinach, kale, cucumber, lettuce, yellow pepper, white corn, (you can substitute any vege you like here, there is no rule for the vege)// Salmon//Toasted sliced almond//my little secret here:  marinated artichoke hearts, it will add so much flavor and texture to the salad. There are so many benefits from eating Artichoke, it is high in antioxidants, great for cancer prevention and treatment, increases bile flow, good for the liver and digestion, high in fiber….//Any salad dressing you like, you can make it yourself or buy it from store. The one I have here is “Sesame dressing” from “Feast from the East” I really love it, light and flavorful.

Steps: Chop all the vege nicely in about the same size, one tip for preparing the vege is that I prepare the kale first since it has a rougher texture, (see I prepare kale for salad here) Basically, I cut it in thin slides, add some lemon juicy, salt, olive oil to soften the kale for about 15 mins. Then I mix all the other chopped vege with the prepared kale in a big bowl. Now it is time for the salmon, just pan fried or bake it until it has a golden brown look from outside, add some lemon juice, pepper, salt before it is done. Mix the chopped salmon, toasted sliced almond and marinated artichoke in the big vege blow, add some dressing you like, and there you have it.

It is not the easiest salad to make it, but it is very fulfilling, and totally worth all the preparation.  Please let me know if you get a chance to try out this recipe, I would like to know if you enjoy it.

Bon Appetit my loves!
